Her patients and residents are her biggest priority. She has been blessed with the gift of nursing and caring for so many and strives for excellence each day.

Rowena Becker

QA Nurse

Rowena Becker is the QA Nurse at The Legacy Rehab.  She started her journey in long term care when she was 19 by becoming a CNA.  She loved the hands-on care that she provided for 14 years and knew this was the field that she wanted to be in.  Rowena had helped care for her grandmother when she was young and that influence led her to her career in nursing. After becoming an LVN in California, she soon moved to Bullhead City, AZ where she began her career at the Legacy Rehab & Care Center.  She worked as a floor nurse and then seized the opportunity to grow within the company as an MDS Nurse, QA Nurse and then Administrative Nurse  The Legacy Rehab has become like a  second home and she loves the people she works with as well as our residents and families. When she’s not at work, she enjoys anything as long as it involves making memories with her family.  They enjoy camping, weekly family dinners, and quality time together.  Long term care continues to be her passion and she looks forward to continually making a difference in peoples lives.

Making a positive difference in our residents day to day life  whether it be a smile, listening ear, a good meal with music and great conversation, or telling them how beautiful they look after an appointment at the beauty parlor,  puts her heart in a  happy place, “I’m grateful to be part of The Legacy Team and in my spare time I love to spend it with my family, it’s the best!”

Steve Salles

MDS Coordinator

Like so many, I’m another Southern California transplant. I now live in Bullhead City. The spectacular mountain views, lack of pollution, and traffic all contribute to my love of this place. I originally came here after my grandmother suffered a stroke. I was her caregiver until her death. It was a challenge, given the stroke and comorbidities, but the experience led me to the field of health care, which I had never considered before. I became a Certified Nursing Assistant, then a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), and finally a Registered Nurse (RN). The experience has given me a broad, if not unique view of nursing and the provision of care. My commitment to education exemplifies my devotion to providing the best for those in my care. Working in MDS/Infection Prevention allows me to utilize critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills to affect a greater number of people. I’m a lifelong learner who enjoys learning new things, so I do that in my off time as well as at work. Although I also enjoy doing nothing during my off time, I also enjoy the outdoors, perhaps as a counter to the busyness I experience at work.
